Took off from one of my favorite discussions in class, friendships in Facebook!
We discussed how friendship is being redefined by this online social network.
I went through a little bit of observation, and saw a parallelism however, on how friends interact in real life and how friends interact in Facebook. What do you guys think? :)
We spend most of our time online that we think it's more convenient to "talk" to our friends online than face-to-face. But even though we communicate in the virtual world, we still retain our offline selves and that is evident in how we type (kldfakfas, i loveeee youuuuu or >:D<) haha (labo)
Haha! Good points. :) I agree with everything you said. Isama mo na din na minsan ang iba, mahilig magtanong ng senseless things just to start a conversation and eventually, flooded na ng notifs and account mo dahil ginwang chatroom ang facebook. :P
But then again, I would have stress na extremes ang tao na ma-oobserve natin sa facebook. Anjan yung mga tao na ultimo pamomroblema sa kakainin for lunch ay ginagawang status, anjan naman yung minsan lang mag-update ng status at babati lang ng good evening and shiz. My point is, we could say that we may know a person better by befriending him or her in facebook, or we may become confused kung ano talaga ang personality nila kasi pwedeng iba sila sa personal. But the thing is, creating a facebook account entails putting at least something about yourself and that type of disclosure would only work for people who are comfortable of expressing in whatever manner they want to express themselves.
I like the fact that you highlighted the similarity of the offline and online world because I feel that they are often unjustifiably separated. Cute way to present it, too!
when the web was young (wtf elder speech ba to haha) I remember my classmates being reluctant to put in their info online. When we were just getting warmed up to the internet's nuances, it seemed like there was little to no difference when it came to our personalities. But that's true. The more the technological means evolve to provide people with better ways to get connected online, or technologically at the very least, the more distant the "online self" becomes compared to their real selves. Hm.
This is very funny and very very true. We can see a whole new cyber society in Facebook! And it is very very much similar to what we call this "real" world. :)
COOL!:) Yes this one of the aspects I wanted to discuss din.. we pati whenever we type "hahahaha" are we really laughing pag nag "hahahaha" how is it translating to what we do or how we react in real life.. :) I think we just show a part of us and what is accepted online.. and keep the bad, stinky traits offline.. like pag na-tag ka sa panget mo na picture diba its either you untag or you ask the person who uploaded the photo kung pwede i-delete. :) Congrats Faith!:)
Because of facebook, we can be more intimate to our friends. Example, we can be more clingy, we can show to the public how close we are to each other. Facebook creates more interaction. :)
BTW, I super like your video, it makes me think how clingy I am to my friends :)
I agree w/ you on the points you've shown. However, I cannot say that everyone really behaves online. Some people still hides something from the prying eyes of people online.
uh, what we post on FB may be misinterpreted. Minsan kahit sincere sa sinasabi, sasabihin ng iba, "bitter". Kapag too good to be true, minsan it is interpreted as "pambobola". :))
*FB is a venue for connection and communication. Actually, fb alleviates thesadness of losing one's precious phone. thanks to fb. :))*
marami pa ring deficiencies ang posting at interaction sa fb. It's open for misunderstanding and misinterpretation. Pero, yeah, let's take advantage and take risks.
I am very guilty of this! :>
